The role

As Editorial Content Lead, you will be a driving force behind planning and commissioning, editing and delivering resources to support the people profession and to champion better work and working lives. You will join our growing editorial team, and work in collaboration with subject matter experts to produce engaging, relevant and up to date resources. As Editorial Content Lead, you’ll have an opportunity to cover important topics such as inclusion and diversity, reward and recognition, talent planning and technology in HR. You will be joining at an exciting time as we move to a new digital platform and enhance our digital offerings.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working with the Knowledge Content team and with other CIPD departments to develop and maintain a content plan and publishing schedule to meet the needs of defined CIPD audiences
  • Working with the Knowledge Content team to plan and deliver a balanced, timely and engaging publishing cycle to meet the needs of all audience types
  • Representing Knowledge Content in internal panels for specific topics, guiding on audience requirement, format, style, channel and scheduling
  • Working with internal subject matter experts to identify and commission writers to agreed timescales and budget
  • Editing content, headlines and associated material to meet audience needs
  • Developing and maintaining content templates in collaboration with Design and Digital teams
  • Working with content channel owners to maximise audience impact and reach
  • Monitoring audience insight and analytics to adapt and develop content

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Excellent editing and copywriting skills and experience of commissioning
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience (content, editorial or publishing)
  • Audience focused approach and experience to interpret complex academic work into digestible format
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of the online content environment and effective formats
  • Ability to manage multiple online projects in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work with colleagues across the organisation
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and work as part of an agile team
