Administration Assistant

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust are proud award winners of the HSJ Provider of the Year 2019

A vacancy has arisen for a 37.5 hour full time Administration Assistant – 12 month fixed term contract, within the Health Records Department based at Mary Seacole Building, Willerby Hill, Beverley Road, Willerby.

The post involves dealing with requests for medical records and use of computer systems for retrieval and recording of data. This entails the retrieval and dispatch of files to and from other units within the Trust.

You should have word processing/keyboard skills of RSA Stage II or its equivalent (e.g. VDU inputting experience) together with good communications and customer service skills. Knowledge of the Trust Lorenzo system would be an advantage.

You should be able to work accurately within given deadlines under supervision. There is a moderate amount of physical activity required in this post.

As part of this structured development role, you will commit to a learning and development programme that will be part of your working day.

You will learn new skills that will help you develop and give you transferrable skills for your future career.

You will study for a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Administration which is made up of a work based qualification (NVQ/QCF), a technical certificate and functional skills in literacy, numeracy and IT. If you already have these qualifications or similar qualifications, this does not stop you from applying for this post. The learning and development to be completed will be dependent on an initial assessment from the training provider.

This role is permanent subject to successful completion of your Apprenticeship within the recommended timeframe.

The recommended timeframe will be determined by the Training Provider after an initial assessment in the workplace, but a guideline for completion of the above qualification is within 12-18months (pro rata for part time). The minimum duration of all Apprenticeships is 12 months as per the SFA Government Guidelines.

During the period of your training and development (via the Structured Development Programme), you will not be paid any increments within the band of the post you are applying for until the training provider can confirm successful completion of the agreed learning and development.

Flexi-time arrangements operate within this department.
