Overnight Bell/Valet Attendant

Transport guest luggage to/from guest rooms. Escort guests to rooms and inform guests of all hotel services and features. Responsible for attending to immediate needs of each guest upon arrival and follow through attention throughout stay. Drive, park and retrieve guest/visitor vehicles as they arrive and depart from the hotel, courteously, safely and efficiently according to the hotel's standards. Thorough knowledge of all hotel services and amenities.


1)Valid drivers license issued from the state in which the hotel operates.

2)Excellent driving record.

3)Two year’s experience driving vehicles.

4)Ability to drive all vehicle types.

5)Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests/ visitors, management and co-workers to their understanding.

6)Ability to provide legible communication and directions.


1. Maintain knowledge of: a. Scheduled daily activities. b. Daily arrivals/departures, house count. c. Features and services provided by the hotel. d. Hours of operation of each outlet. e. Parking facilities, layout, hours of operation, prices and procedures.

2. Greet arriving guests/visitors; bid farewell to departing guests/visitors.

3. Assist guests and visitors into and out of their vehicles.

4. Assist guests with loading/unloading luggage into and out of their vehicles.

5. Provide legible claim tickets to guests for their luggage in accordance with departmental standards.

6. Take possession of vehicle and park it, following departmental procedures.

7. Document location of vehicles parked in parking facility.

8. Ensure security of vehicle and its keys.

9. Transport guest luggage from the point of arrival at the hotel to their assigned room.

10. Transport guest luggage from current room to reassigned room for room changes.

11. Transport guest luggage from their room to the point of departure from the hotel.

12. Assist in locating guest's lost luggage.

13. Correctly tag, store and retrieve luggage from holding room.

14. Identify and explain hotel facilities and features to guests while escorting them to their room.

15. Identify fire exit closest to guest's room and explain safety features of assigned room.

16. Demonstrate use of room key to guests.

17. Place guest luggage inside room.

18. Maintain accurate knowledge of scheduled functions within the hotel to direct guests to correct locations.

19. Maintain accurate knowledge of local attractions and activities to recommend for guest inquiries.

20. Relay accurate directions to guests on inquiries of transportation within the local area.

21. Maintain accurate log record of guest calls for Bell Person assistance.

22. Answer Bellstand telephone within 3 rings using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.

23. Handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.

24. Remain in assigned post position, maintaining correct stance.

25. Retrieve guest dry cleaning/laundry from their rooms and deliver to Laundry/Valet.

26. Deliver designated newspaper by 5:00 a.m. to specified guest rooms.

27. Monitor and maintain appearance of lobby areas and luggage holding room.

28. Polish brass luggage carts and maintain cleanliness of carts.

29. Ensure confidentiality of hotel guests and security of guest room access.

30. Successful completion of the training/certification process
