Here's a summary of responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and oversee Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (CSOPTC) resident programs, as well as media and communications projects for the CSOPTC. Lead and execute projects and initiatives to add value to National Governing Bodies (NGBs), High-Performance Management Organization (HPMOs), and athletes. Be a resource for both coaches and resident athletes at the OPTC by cultivating a healthy working relationship with each group and develop initiatives to continue to support their health and well-being.

Here's how you'll have an impact:

  • Manage programs for all NGBs with approved residency at the CSOPTC to include allocating resident beds, establishing relationships with all resident coaches, ensuring resident team schedules are communicated to other OPTC/USOPC departments, and working with resident athletes on administering all resident housing on-site.
  • Serve as primary point of contact with NGBs, HPMOs, USOPC Sport Performance, and U.S. Paralympics as it relates to resident and long-term athlete programming and needs. Partner with Operations team to facilitate short-term programming and resources for non-resident athletes and/or camps.
  • Manage programs and direct Athlete Life & Programs Coordinator on resident programming initiatives for the enrichment and learning for athletes outside of their competitive environments. This includes but is not limited to community service appearances, new athlete orientations, life skills sessions, and athlete outings.
  • Create and promote an athlete-focused, safe, and positive culture of support for the athletes staying at the CSOPTC. Supervise regularly scheduled dormitory checks and direct team to conduct additional dorm checks as necessary, to ensure maximum safety and security in the dorms.
  • Serve as the CSOPTC liaison to work closely with USOPC Communications on local promotions, media, and outreach, including developing content for the e-newsletter and webpages relating to the CSOPTC. Act as the primary contact with Communications for athlete interviews and other media visits at the CSOPTC and serve as the lead for the Athlete Portal communication tool.
  • Develop, implement, and administer the CSOPTC housing budget and work with Facilities Management (FMD) and the OPTC Director to manage the FF&E budget and process deferred maintenance items for all dorm rooms.
  • Work with USOPC Sport Performance, U.S. Paralympics, and NGBs/HPMOs as needed to identify training venue gaps and strategize the best plan to mitigate concerns and improve athlete access and performance.
  • Oversee data integrity process via the StarRez database, associated with monthly and annual reporting for the CSOPTC, as it relates to resident athlete programs. Partner with Operations team as needed to enhance functionality of StarRez system.
  • Schedule facility maintenance for all resident dormitories on-site based on occupancy rate, budgetary impact, and availability of contracted company to complete necessary work with FMD.
  • Support initiatives with Olympic City USA and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum as requested.
  • Collaborate with FMD to ensure dorm rooms are kept up to date with current ADA standards, to include construction of Paralympic access/ADA rooms as well as other general dorm construction projects.
  • Provide direct supervision to Athlete Life & Programs Coordinator, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, and motivating to maximize collective performance. Contribute to an atmosphere for outstanding teamwork through clear expectations, frequent communications, and fair and consistent feedback.
  • Partner with CSOPTC department leads to establish common vision of the Training Center, support divisional budget, and share ideas and best practices around team leadership, cost-effective strategies, and project development.
  • Be a key team player within the CSOPTC management team.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sport Management, Communications, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a sports organization

  • This is a hub-based role that will regularly work from the Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center

Here's some more information you need to know:

  • Hiring Pay Range: $55,567 - $65,000 per year
  • This is a full-time, exempt, position intended to work 40 hours per week.
  • Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program at a 15% target. This program is subject to change or elimination by the USOPC at any time at its sole discretion.
