The Mortgage Production Assistant (MPA) is responsible for working with Excite Credit Union Members to facilitate mortgage loan products and services. This position will ensure that members and internal teams have an epic mortgage experience. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting Mortgage Loan Originators (who meet value targets) by providing administrative and other clerical support to assist in the loan production process. Typical responsibilities are listed below and may vary based fluctuation of needs within the origination of the loan. The MPA promotes the products and services of Excite and helps to increase home-ownership and financial success among credit union members. This position assists in obtaining and processing the member’s information through the final underwriting and closing, clearing conditions and providing timely responses to applicants throughout the loan process. The MPA may be required to participate in and support the Mortgage Loan Officer during seminars, training, and other presentations throughout the year.

Required Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience in mortgage lending, real estate and/or a financial institution with primary underwriting/lending responsibilities.
  • Required proof of National Mortgage License System Registry (NMLSR) is required at time of hire or within 10 days of hire and before any mortgage related work may be performed.

Preferred Experience and Education

  • 1-2 years Mortgage experience preferred
  • 1-2 years administrative or clerical experience
  • Strong computer, organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite application skills
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual a plus


10% travel among branches.
